Sara Thigpen is an award-winning actor and director whose work focuses on expanding narratives from previously unseen and unheard voices.

Originally from (very) rural NC, she received a BFA in Acting/Directing with honors from UNC-Greensboro. After graduation and a short stint in regional theater on both coasts, she moved to NYC, and for the next 20+ years, immersed herself in downtown and developmental theater.

In the 20s she began to add commercials and short films into the mix and eagerly awaits each new collaboration.

If you don't find her on-set or on-stage, you can see her people-watching, traveling, or finding her new favorite bakery along the waterfront in LIC (Queens, Y'all!) or hear her cooking and laughing with/at her beloved husband, Tim, in their tiny apartment crammed with plants, too many chairs and an ever-growing collection of shot glasses.​
